Hyde no.12

Hey guys! How's it going?🙂.
.
Like I promised, here is my review of the Hyde no.12 single pot still Irish whiskey.
.
This new offering is triple distilled from a mash bill of malted barley and Irish oats. It is then matured for at least 5 years in 200 litre, alligator flame charred, ex-Bourbon, white oak casks, sourced from a Bourbon distillery in Kentucky, USA. before being finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks from Southern Spain.
.
The HYDE No. 12 is branded with the year 1893 across the label, commemorating the marriage of Ireland's first president Douglas Hyde to German born Lucy Kurtz.
.
This Single Pot Still is a non-chill-filtered limited-edition expression which has been aged for six years.
.
Here is my review:.
.
Nose: Honey sweet oak, fruity, pears and a bit spicy as well.
.
Palate: Spicy and creamy with nutmeg and cinnamon. The pears and honey from the nose are present as well.
.
Finish: Long, creamy, oat biscuit.
.
This is a very nice release from Hyde whiskey, a sweet, fruity and oaty single pot still Irish whiskey!
