Glenlivet Illicit Still 12 years

Hey guys! How's it going?๐.
.
A late weekend review this time for you guys ๐.
.
Glenlivet Illicit Still 12 years is a limited edition whisky, inspired by the story of George Smith, the founder of Glenlivet born into a family of clandestine distillers who in turn distilled illegal whisky until 1824, when he was licensed. It is said that when you do something secretly, it seems even more delicious, this is confirmed by this Glenlivet expression that displays familiar fruity notes, characteristic of the whiskies that bear the signature of this distillery, but also brings some surprise elements reminiscent of the original whisky flavor, distilled in the early 1800s.
.
Here is my review:.
.
Nose: Fruity, sweet almonds, apple and pear pastries.
.
Palate: Sweet forest fruit, spiced apples.
.
Finish: Fruity, spicy, citrus.
.
Color: Gold.
.
Now, of course, I can't tell whether this release indeed does resemble the original whisky flavor of the 1800s (anyone have an 1800s Glenlivet laying around? ๐คฃ), but I can say that I quite like it!
.
What do you guys think about this one? ๐.
.
Cheers guys and have a good one ๐ ๐ฅโจ๐ฅ
