Amrut

Hey guys! How's it going?๐.
.
Here is my review of my first Indian single malt whisky. Let's see what we get ๐.
.
The standard expression of the Amrut distillery is this clean and expressive single malt, which captivates with its not at all common aromatic simplicity. The expression is distilled from selected local barley and matured in new American oak barrels and in barrels previously used for bourbon, where it completes its personality. Distillation in small batches helps to preserve the natural aroma. The special character of single malt is strongly influenced by the climate in India.
Here is my review:.
.
Nose: Bitter sweet notes, licorice, nuts and honey. And there is also a weird scent which I can't quite put my finger on, it's not a very pleasant scent though.
.
Palate: Spiced oak and honeyed apricots. That weird aroma that I felt on the nose is gone here.
.
Finish: Long, oaky, with honey.
.
Color: Golden yellow.
.
A very different whisky than what I am used to. Not sure how much I like it though. That weird scent keeps bugging me.
.
What do you guys think about this one?๐.
.
Cheers guys and have a great weekend!๐ ๐ฅโจ๐ฅ
