Fettercairn Warehouse 2 Batch No. 002

It's time for a new review 🥃.
.
Some months ago I was telling you that the Fettercairn Distillery was embarking on an exciting new journey, with the launch of its first ever collection of small batch of single malt whiskies. The Warehouse collection pays homage to the places where Fettercairn comes of age, the 14 dunnage warehouses which boast incredible scarce treasures in the form of maturing stock.
Well, we now have batch 2! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.

Each release of Fettercairn Warehouse 2 Single Malt
Scotch Whisky will showcase a maturation journey
that enhances the tropical distillery character derived
from the copper cooling ring distillation process.
Batch No.002 has been aged for 12 years in first fill ex-American Rye barrels (38%) and first fill ex Bourbon barrels (62%), bottled at 48.5%ABV. These 29 American oak casks have been hand-selected from their traditional dunnage warehouse – Warehouse 2.

Here is my review:.
.
Nose: Tropical fruit like pineapple, mango, but also honey, vanilla, white chocolate and gingerbread. It's spicy rye, cinnamon, syrupy, marzipan.
.
Palate: Very nice mouthfeel. Again fresh tropical fruit like pineapple, mango and but also spices from the rye and bitter woody accents. It's spicy, with cardamom with white chocolate and nutmeg. Candied orange peels and maybe anise.
.
Finish: Medium, warm spicy and oaky. The fruitiness fades and gives way to the spicy notes we got on the palate.
.
Color: Amber gold.
.
I quite like this one, even more so than batch No.001.
It really shows that this limited Warehouse 2 series is going to be very good 👌🏻🥃.

My name is Andrei, Andrei-Paul Muresan. I’m an IT professional, born in the wonderful year of 1982, in the heart of Transylvania (for people who don’t know, the heart of Transylvania is a city called Cluj-Napoca, located in Eastern Europe, in Romania to be more exact).
