GlenGrant 10yo

It's been a while since my last post, don't worry, everything's fine, I've just been on a long vacation trying to reset my brain away from work 😄.
I'm back now, with another review, this time we have the GlenGrant 10yo. I picked this one up because it's a very good introducton to the world of single malt scotch whisky. This is a young single malt, but make no mistake, it's pretty good scotch, no wonder it's been featured as the best single malt scotch whisy 10 Years & Under (Multiple Casks) category in Jym Murray's 2020 edition of the Whisky Bible. Though not sure how relevant that is tbh 😄.
Anyways.

This 10 year old Speyside single malt, having spent a decade in bourbon casks, boasts oodles of light, malty notes. A good dram for warmer weather.

Here is my review:.
.
Nose: Orange and lemon zest, vanilla cream and toffee. Herbal, hint of smoke.
.
Palate: Sweetness, fruity, vanilla, gentle peat, malty, oily, with fudge and cream chased by orange, lemon and sweet apple.
.
Finish: Peachy and grainy, hinst of peat.
.
Famously, Glen Grant produce 'the lightest spirit in Scotland', and while this is a gentle dram it's got a richness to its mouthfeel that you might not expect. While it's not a complex whisky, it doesn not intend to be, it is a great warm-weather sipper.

Andrei Muresan

My name is Andrei, Andrei-Paul Muresan. I’m an IT professional, born in the wonderful year of 1982, in the heart of Transylvania (for people who don’t know, the heart of Transylvania is a city called Cluj-Napoca, located in Eastern Europe, in Romania to be more exact). As you might expect, given my profession, I’m passionate about technology and everything that surrounds it, but I am also a great spirits fan, and when I say spirits I mean scotch, whisk(e)y and cognac, and I also enjoy a good cigar (I never say no to a good cigar). I like to mix all that with a good tune and also a good game, I own a couple of game consoles. I am, by no means, an expert in the scotch/whisk(e)y/cognac/cigar world, but I am keen on learning everything there is to know about it, so I’m launching an invitation to you, to join me in this virtual journey as we learn together.
