Old Forester 86 proof

Hey guys! How's it going?🙂.

Another weekend is just starting and we have another new review!.
.
We have a bourbon this time. It's the Old Forester 86 proof, it's the 1 liter version too 😄.
This is a budget bourbon IMHO and I mainly want to use this as a mixer.
.
Old Forester is made by Brown-Forman, owned by the Brown family since pre-prohibition. Distillery is located right in Louisville, Kentucky.
.
Here is my review:.
.
Nose:
Brown sugar, sweet caramel, vanilla cookie crust, a hint of oak, black cherry, orange peel and graham crackers.
.
Palate: The palate is first hit with caramel and burnt brown sugar, plus a nice touch of vanilla but it’s thin, and muted. Tastes like a young whisky but not offensive 😄.
.
Finish: Medium in length, warm, the oak tannins make a showing here followed by a hint of rye and some pleasing sweet notes of burnt caramel and dark chocolate, orange peel and black pepper at the end.
.
So what do you guys think of this one? Have you tried it? I think it's an ok bourbon, not overly complex but kind of good 😄 nothing to write home about though 😉🥃.

Andrei Muresan

My name is Andrei, Andrei-Paul Muresan. I’m an IT professional, born in the wonderful year of 1982, in the heart of Transylvania (for people who don’t know, the heart of Transylvania is a city called Cluj-Napoca, located in Eastern Europe, in Romania to be more exact).
