Big Peat

Hey guys! How's it going?π.
.
We have a peated one for this review π It's a blended malt from Islay ππ₯.
.
Big Peat is a vibrant and bold expression, launched at the end of 2009, which does has a gentle side. The blend is produced in small batches and consists only of Islay malts, including Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen (a distillery that is no longer in operation). That is why its aromatic palette abounds in flavors specific to the Islay area. It's all natural color and non chill filtered as all Douglass Laing whiskies are. The packaging is also distinctive, easily recognizable.
.
Here is my review:.
.
Nose: Salty notes, complemented by sweet tones of malt, licorice and peat.
.
Palate: A simple but expressive bouquet, where notes of ash, sea water, licorice and smoke are distinguished.
.
Finish: Long, slightly salty, with smoke influences.
.
Color: Straw yellow.
.
This is a peated whisky fan favorite, despite the fact that it's a blended malt and not a single malt.
.
What do you guys think about this one?π.
.
Cheers and have a great weekend!π π₯β¨π₯.
