Hey guys! How's it going?πŸ™‚.
.
Last month when I got this bottle I promised a review, so here it is!😊.
.
Again, thanks to @rifcotrading for hooking me up πŸ€—πŸ₯ƒ.
.
This is a perfect example of a great PX single cask, cask strength whisky done right and a reasonable price too πŸ‘ŒπŸ».
.
This GLENALLACHIE 2004 PX Puncheon Cask Single Cask Single Malt was distilled on April 19, 2004 and matured for 16 years in the PX Puncheon cask. In July 2020 the barrel was filled into 702 individually numbered bottles with 56.4%.
All whiskies in the Single Cask series were bottled at cask strength – of course without coloring or cooling filtration.

New era at GlenAllachie
.
For a long time, this distillery's single malt whisky was only available from independent bottlers such as Gordon & MacPhail, but with the takeover by Billy Walker, the former master distiller of the Benriach and Glendronach distilleries, the distillery is concentrating on original bottlings. Under his aegis, the style of the distillery is clearly oriented towards strong sherry barrel aging. Even if more honey and vanilla aromas dominate this edition, there are nice raisin notes, sweet jam and full-bodied milk chocolate.
.
Here is my review:.
.
Nose: Dates, plums, honey, blackberries, raisins, liquorice and a very light note of mint.
.
Palate: Red fruits, cinnamon sticks, raisins, candies with dark chocolate, caramel sauce, cocoa powder, mocha, dried apricots.
.
Finish: Nice finish, especially the thick and sweet lingering.
.
This a very good whisky, as a single malt, single cask PX cask should be 😍πŸ₯ƒ.
.
What do you guys think? Have you had the pleasure of tasting this one?πŸ™‚.
.
Cheers and have a great weekend!πŸ₯ƒβœ¨πŸ₯ƒβœŒπŸ»οΈ.

Andrei Muresan

My name is Andrei, Andrei-Paul Muresan. I’m an IT professional, born in the wonderful year of 1982, in the heart of Transylvania (for people who don’t know, the heart of Transylvania is a city called Cluj-Napoca, located in Eastern Europe, in Romania to be more exact). Here’s a photo of me, just to put a face to the name πŸ˜‰ I mentioned Transylvania because most people are more likely to know where Transylvania is and not where Romania is πŸ™‚ oh and by the way, vampires, they’re just ghost stories, sorry to disappoint everybody. As you might expect, given my profession, I’m passionate about technology and everything that surrounds it, but I am also a great spirits fan, and when I say spirits I mean scotch, whisk(e)y and cognac, and I also enjoy a good cigar (I never say no to a good cigar). I like to mix all that with a good tune and also a good game, I own a couple of game consoles. I am, by no means, an expert in the scotch/whisk(e)y/cognac/cigar world, but I am keen on learning everything there is to know about it, so I’m launching an invitation to you, to join me in this virtual journey as we learn together.
