Laphroaig Quarter Cask
Hey guys! How’s it going? π.
First week of social distancing. It’s hard. But it’s good while we have our health.
For the first weekend with this nasty situation, I’m trying to ease the pain with some classic Islay ππ₯.
This time I went for the Quarter Cask from Laphroaig ππ»π₯.
The Laphroaig Quarter Cask range benefits from a primary aging in traditional American oak barrels, previously used for bourbon and a final aging, made in small barrels. It is a technique used by producers to ensure a contact with wood up to 60% higher than in the case of a large barrel, thus emphasizing and intensifying the maturing process. The double maturing outlines a complex character and an intense and expressive aromatic profile, where the warm woody aromas delicately highlight the specific peat notes.
Here is my review:.
Nose: Seductive notes of smoke and tropical fruits, especially bananas and coconut, wrapped in hay and black grass accents.
Palate: A classic mix of sweet aromas and smoky notes, which fits very well with the silky texture of the expression.
Finish: Long, spicy, with hints of smoke.
Color: Amber gold.
So what do you guys think about this one? It’s very aromatic and peaty. Peat heads rejoice! π.
How are you spending this antisocial weekend? π I’m sure some Quarter Cask Laphroaig would make passing the time easier ππ₯.
Cheers guys and have a good weekend! Stay safe! π₯
