Laphroaig Tripple Wood

Another week in isolation and I think I’m starting to get used to it! ๐Ÿ˜„.
I know it’s tough, but we have to hang in there and hope things will be back to normal soon.

Lucky for us whisky lovers that we have whisky to ease the pain ๐Ÿ˜„.
This time I have another Laphy, the Triple Wood.

The richness and complexity of this unique expression are not accidental, but are due to the triple maturation in three types of barrels. The first maturation is made in American white oak barrels, previously used for bourbon. The second maturation is carried out in carefully selected small 19th-century barrels, and the third maturation takes place in large European oak barrels, previously used to keep sherry Oloroso. This triple maturation perfectly harmonizes the aromas of smoke, oak and sherry, while preserving the Laphroaig spirit. For maximum flavor, Laphroaig Triple Wood is non chill-filtered.

Laphroaig Tripple Wood

Here is my review:

Nose: Delicate notes of raisins, juicy apricots and freshly ground walnuts, wrapped in rich smoke accents.

Palate: Without water, this whisky has intense aromas of smoke, vanilla and fruit. A splash of water reveals citrus notes and spices that envelop the initial notes to outline a more nuanced aromatic palette.

Finish: Very long and balanced, dominated by notes of smoke and caramel.

Color: Intense gold.

This is a very good whisky from Laphy, one that I will enjoy over this weekend ๐Ÿ˜‰.
What are you guys having this weekend?
Cheers guys! Have a great weekend ๐Ÿ˜‰ and stay safe โœŒ๐Ÿป๏ธ๐Ÿฅƒโœจ๐Ÿฅƒ

Andrei Muresan

My name is Andrei, Andrei-Paul Muresan. Iโ€™m an IT professional, born in the wonderful year of 1982, in the heart of Transylvania (for people who donโ€™t know, the heart of Transylvania is a city called Cluj-Napoca, located in Eastern Europe, in Romania to be more exact). Hereโ€™s a photo of me, just to put a face to the name ๐Ÿ˜‰ I mentioned Transylvania because most people are more likely to know where Transylvania is and not where Romania is ๐Ÿ™‚ oh and by the way, vampires, theyโ€™re just ghost stories, sorry to disappoint everybody. As you might expect, given my profession, Iโ€™m passionate about technology and everything that surrounds it, but I am also a great spirits fan, and when I say spirits I mean scotch, whisk(e)y and cognac, and I also enjoy a good cigar (I never say no to a good cigar). I like to mix all that with a good tune and also a good game, I own a couple of game consoles. I am, by no means, an expert in the scotch/whisk(e)y/cognac/cigar world, but I am keen on learning everything there is to know about it, so Iโ€™m launching an invitation to you, to join me in this virtual journey as we learn together.
