Bunnahabhain Stiuireadair

Hey guys! How’s it going?🙂.

I’m happy to try this Bunnahabhain Stiuireadair, I know, that’s a mouthful 😄. Stiùireadair (pronounced ‘stew-rahdur’ and means ‘helmsman’ in Scots Gaelic) is the latest member of the Bunnahabhain crew. With a brackish, coastal tinge, this sherried malt will transport you to Bunnahabhain bay, with a smattering of sea spray and dried fruit lingering on your lips. Stiùireadair, is the first Bunnahabhain Limited Edition to pay homage to the Bunnahabhain Helmsman, who adorns every bottle. Nice marketing 😄.

The whisky was made from selected first and second fill sherry casks with spirit of varying ages, it also shares some of the characteristics of the regular 12yo 👌🏻.

This is a very nice addition to the line of limited edition Bunnahabhain 🥃.

Here is my review:

Nose: Dried fruit, caramel, vanilla fudge, musty oak, hints of brine and spice.

Palate: Watery sherry notes, sea salt, gives the feeling of a young whisky. Nutty and spicy.

Finish: Medium, dry, with sherry notes and a bit salty.

This is a very atypical Bunnahabhain, I suspect the die hard fans will not like this a lot. For me, I think it’s pretty good stuff 🙂🥃.
