Highland Park – Twisted Tatoo
Hey guys. How’s it going? So on with my Highland Park journey, I’ve decided to go for one of their latest releases, the 16yo Twisted Tattoo.
Highland Park’s Twisted Tattoo combines whisky aged in Spanish Rioja wine 🍷seasoned casks – 153 casks in total – with whisky matured in 70 first-fill bourbon casks. The result is Highland Park Twisted Tattoo 16 Year Old. Inspiration for this one came from the Viking legend of the Midgard Serpent, which got itself twisted around the world to bite its own tail. You can even see said serpent on the bottle’s label, designed by tattoo artist Colin Dale.
Here is my review:.
Nose: Fruity with peaches🍑, apricots 🍊 and roasted red berries🍓, shortbread. Sweet vanilla and honey 🍯and a whiff of smoke 💨.
Palate: The vanilla and honey🍯 from the nose are present here as well. The fruitiness is here as well with peaches🍑 and apricots🍊 and a slight spicy peppery 🌶note.
Finish: Sweet vanilla lingering to reveal a touch of smoke💨. Dry oak and liquorice and red wine tannins🍷
This a very good whisky guys, the Rioja wine is there adding to its complexity but it’s not in any way overpowering, but it’s definitely there 😉.
What do you guys think about this one? Have you tried it? How did you like it?
What do you think of them Camachos? 💨👌🏻💨.
Cheers guys and have a great week 😉 🥃✨🥃
