The Woodford Reserve Belmont Jewel

Hey guys. How’s it going? Andrei here from FireWater X.O., back with another delicious whiskey mix for you. Summer is in full swing here so I thought I’d surprise you guys with a truly refreshing whiskey mix! 😉

Background

So just to tell you a little bit about the Woodford Reserve Belmont Jewel cocktail. This cocktail has a lot to do with horse racing as does the Woodford Reserve whiskey, to be more exact, this is one of the couple official drinks of the third leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes. As you guessed by the name, this cocktail features the Woodford Reserved whiskey, it is a simple, fresh and delicious cocktails, perfect for a summer afternoon watching some horse racing, or just doing your own thing 😉

So, back to the drink, this is a great mix of bourbon whiskey, lemonade and pomegranate juice and it’s a perfect summer drink, not just for the June horse race 🙂 Also, fun fact, you can easily turn this into a delicious punch :-))

Ingredients

Alright, so let’s get down to it, here’s what you need for ingredients to mix your own Woodford Reserve Belmont Jewel:

• 1 1/2 ounces (45ml) Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whiskey
• 2 ounces (60ml) lemonade
• 1 ounce (30ml) pomegranate juice
• Garnish: ​lemon wedge or ​cherry

How to mix it

• Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice
• Shake that thing silly
• Strain into a double old fashioned glass over ice
• Garnish with a lemon wedge or cherry (I went with a lemon wedge here)
