Springbank 15yo – First scotch after the holidays
Hey guys. How’s it going?
My first week of work after the holidays is finally over. And what a hard one it was, coming back to work from the holidays is always tough π So it’s time to treat ourselves and enjoy the weekend π.
I have here the 15yo Springbank and the Open Master from Montecristo ππ» Apart from pairing this with a good cigar, you can also pair this wit a good cheese. Considering the profile of this whisky, a semi hard cheese would do the trick, a very good option is the French GruyΓ¨re cheese, or even something softer like a blue Brie cheese. Give it a go, you’ll thank me later π Very good stuff π
This is a very satisfying way to finish off the start of the year, if that makes sense :-))
Here is my review of the Springbank:
Nose: Fruity and rich, with notes of mango, peach and nectarine, but also caramel and toffee.
Palate: Again very rich, with exotic fruit, leather marzipan and toffee and vanilla at the end and a hint of dirty smoke.
Finish: Long, warm and dry with sweet notes of vanilla, cocoa and hazelnuts.
All in all a very good Campbeltown scotch whisky, just what is needed to start off the weekend π Cheers! π₯β¨π₯ππ»π¨βπ»
